About Us

Little Wolf Physiotherapy Clinic is staffed by two partners: James Midgley and Gareth Whelan. Our aim is to provide high quality physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation to all our clients at competitive rates. Our company ethos is that individual problems require individual solutions. Because of this we will individually tailor a package of treatment that is unique to your specific problem.

James Midgley BSc (Hons) MCSP SRP MMACP: DSC00006

James trained at the University of Teesside and is now a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and is a State Registered Physiotherapist (SRP) with the Health Professions Council. He is nearing completion of his MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and is also a member of the prestigious Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP ), which is an internationally recognised qualification representing excellence in neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy. James is also a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, has a diploma in injection therapy and is an acupuncture practitioner. He has special interests in manual therapy, clinical reasoning, knee injuries, headaches and spinal conditions.

James also works as a clinical specialist physiotherapist within the NHS, providing advanced assessment and management for individuals with spinal and knee conditions, working directly alongside orthopaedic consultant surgeons. In addition, James works as an advanced physiotherapist within a busy outpatient department and has responsibilities for the clinical development of other physiotherapists.

 

 

Gareth Whelan BSc (Hons) MCSP SRP:036_36_00

Gareth is a graduate of the University of Brighton and is a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is a State Registered Physiotherapist (SRP) with the Health Professions Council. Gareth is one of the first physiotherapists in the country to complete a University Certificate in Post-graduate Continuing Education in the Assessment and Management of Shoulder Disorders, a specialist qualification looking at advanced clinical skills relating to shoulder problems. He has recently commenced a Masters program in Advanced Clinical Practice.

 As well as being a founding partner in Little Wolf Physiotherapy Gareth is also a Senior Physiotherapist in the NHS, His role involves providing physiotherapy  at GP health centres, running evidence-based management programs for chronic low back pain, and providing  specialist shoulder rehabilitation to patients following head and neck surgery.

 

 

Our professional affiliations as members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and as State Registered Physiotherapists mean that we are legally entitled to call ourselves physiotherapists. Furthermore, we are bound by a professional code of conduct, and a condition of our registration is that we maintain competencies and that our knowledge base is current.
